What is Influence & Outcomes all about? What’s in a name?
Influence & Outcomes is a for-profit LLC. A social enterprise, we seek to empower non-profit and 501(c)3 organizations.
Non-profit organizations, as a whole, share the essential characteristics of Passion and Purpose, right? Our objective is to add another critical P: Performance.
+ We want to INFLUENCE how Non-profit organizations grow and develop in a changing environment, which forces all Non-profits to ‘up their game’. Not upping their game risks what? The ability to thrive and achieve sustainability. As a non-profit leader are you content to just survive?
+ We want to improve OUTCOMES for Influence and Outcomes’ non-profit clients.
+ We seek to bring proven business principles to the non-profit organizations we support.
Influence & Outcomes quite simply stands for the objectives by which we desire to be defined.
From our own research, our first–hand experiences (our sister runs an award-winning, small non-profit), our extensive interviews, and our blog (Your Outcomes Well) focused on non-profits, we have learned a few things about helping non-profit organizations achieve better outcomes. These non-profits are passionate, purpose-driven, and high-performing.
WHY Influence and Outcomes has chosen to provide marketing and branding services?
As 3 brothers we frankly started on this journey somewhat by accident. As we were talking to our sister, an Executive Director/Founder of a NC non-profit, we were trying to help her figure out how to properly use some free software she’d received (TechSoup, Microsoft Dynamics). She was hoping it would allow her to dramatically simplify her reporting to State and Federal agencies. Well, as an IT specialist, Jr knew that wouldn’t work!
+ He set out, enlisting his 2 older brothers (Greg & Jeff), to help her. He knew their backgrounds would give him two additional perspectives on crafting a better way forward. The seed for the creation of Influence and Outcomes LLC had been planted.
Long story short, we commenced to use “Lean” business principles which clarify the best way to produce a product for a market. These principles dictated that we conduct dozens of interviews of non-profit leaders. We asked them to fully describe their organizations, their triumphs, their frustrations, as well as what was currently holding them back. We got some somewhat surprising answers during this Listening Tour.
While there are indeed some needs for workflow-simplifying software, the most pressing needs of non-profits revolved around we discovered marketing, plain and simple. So Influence & Outcomes’ first significant offering for non-profits were based on providing business tools, coaching, & support for “building the brand”.
We aspire to be a social enterprise that facilitates successfully building your brand. Our services for non-profit organizations include: Building out a non-profit’s website; interviewing it’s clients or donors for proper messaging; programming a social media calendar, where Influence & Outcomes is facilitating their publishing useful content (i.e. online articles and posts) to their target market – several times weekly.
With our support in strategically building a brand, non-profits can start to gain clientele. We help such organizations by helping them get noticed, using multiple tools across multiple platforms.
